Quick method for selecting everything except the last paragraph mark in a Word document for those of you handy with a keyboard … [Why would you want to do this?]
Look at the Edit menu, notice the command Select All? Notice the keyboard shortcut? CTRL + A – exceedingly useful keyboard shortcut because you can use it to select all in almost any Windows application. Memorize it.

OK – press CTRL + A to select all, then press the SHIFT key and use the arrow keys to back up. The Left arrow key will back up the selection one character at a time the Up arrow key will back up one line at a time.
